Introducing Karin Schall!

Karin Schall

A is For is excited to announce the appointment of our new interim Board President, Karin Schall. Karin follows Martha Plimpton, A is For co-founder, and Board President for the past decade. Martha will remain an active member of the A is For Board of Directors, and writes, “I can’t think of anyone better to help guide the process of finding a new president in 2022, and to re-energize and re-focus us as an organization and as friends with a shared mission. I’m so excited to follow her lead into this new period.” 

Karin has been an A is For Board Member for over two years, and has had a long career in the New York City nonprofit sector. She has worked as the Manager of Special Events at Lincoln Center Theater for over 25 years. Karin is also on the Board of Projects With Care and is a member of Rise and Resist. Karin lives in Hell's Kitchen and can be seen out at protests or chalking the neighborhood in her free time. 

Karin shares, “I’m so honored to be a member of the A is For Board and while I could never fill Martha’s very large shoes, I look forward to helping A is For promote our awesome programs, raise money and awareness during this very intense time, which also happens to be our Tenth Anniversary year.  The arts and constructive outrage have always been part of my life, and I can’t wait to work with all of YOU in the coming months. We need to stop whispering about abortion, stop politicizing reproductive health and start busting stigma.”
