Looking to a Better Future
While it appears we may have a new, saner administration in the White House come January, the closeness of this race has been bracing for everyone.
More Americans voted in this election than in any in our young country’s history. Yet from the slim margins by which Joe Biden and Kamala Harris eked out this victory, we can see how deeply divided this country is.
We don’t expect things to get any easier.
A is For is also celebrating! Because despite the challenges we still face, for the very first time a woman, a woman of color, Kamala Harris, will occupy the Executive Office as our vice president. This victorious moment gives us hope and inspiration. We know this is a huge advancement for women and women of color, and for the interests of marginalized and excluded people all over this country and the world.
Yes, it’s obvious, and angering, that the past four years have further riven the cultural divide – that has always existed in our country – deeper and wider than any one election can repair. Mere politics can’t breach that divide.
Always, and now more than ever, human beings will rely on the power of art, expression, storytelling, and creative dialogue for understanding. A is For exists to exalt and celebrate that truth, and working with you, our supporters, our partners, and our Board, we’re ready for what comes next.
A is For envisions a world in which every person has access to the full spectrum of reproductive healthcare free from shame, stigma and obstruction. Thank you for helping to make that happen.
Please give today. No gift is too small.
Thank you for your support,
