Our newest comic book, “Buckle Up: Abortion Stories From The Road” is Now Available!

Buckle Up: Abortion Stories from the Road tells the stories of people who have had to travel long distances or over state lines for abortion care. This gorgeous, stigma-busting book was edited by Emily Flake from the New Yorker. All proceeds from the book sales will benefit The Brigid Alliance, a referral-based service that provides travel, food, lodging, child care and other logistical support for people seeking abortions.

For my organization The Brigid Alliance — a practical support organization with remote operating coordinators who provide wrap-around, logistical, and financial support to folks who must travel across the country to access their nearest abortion provider — the wave has far from settled, and our existence has never been more tragically relevant. 

Every one of these stories in this incredible book serve as a stark reminder of the challenges we face today in this country of achieving bodily autonomy and self determination. It is a deeply painful time. And yet, during this dark time in history, and in the history of abortion access specifically, being part of The Brigid Alliance, and the larger ecosystem of support organizations that is propping up abortion around the country, has been a gift.
