10 Years of Busting Stigma!
Founded in 2012 by actors, activists, and friends — Martha Plimpton, Kellie Overbey, and Gina Loukareas — A is For emerged in response to the escalating legislative attacks on access to safe, reproductive healthcare. 2022 marks our 10th year as a nonprofit organization, busting stigma against abortion with an annual play contest, graphic art books, and a Broadway karaoke gala that galvanizes and inspires each year more than the last. To date, we have donated almost $190,000 to abortion clinics and reproductive justice organizations across the country.
A is For remains a grassroots organization, and we rely on the generosity of supporters like you so that we can continue to offer artistic and bias-challenging programs to an expanding audience, and directly support abortion service providers. Today our work is more important than ever as we move into our second decade with a renewed sense of purpose and urgency.
