BAFW through the years
Sunday, May 3rd, would have been our fifth year of Broadway Acts For Women, the ONLY All Broadway fundraiser focused solely on Abortion Rights.
For the month running up to it we would have been crazy people, bothering you with emails, scrambling to fill seats, scrounging for swag and prizes, and stuffing swag bags at my house til all hours of the night before the show.
Ours is just one of innumerable springtime galas and fundraisers that has had to be delayed or even cancelled, we're not alone. But when I see these pictures of all the amazing, beautiful, exhausted, dedicated, screamingly talented, in-love-with-abortion-rights people we've had helping and performing, and celebrating with us over the years, I just want to cry with gratitude.
How do we manage, every year, to throw the most exciting, exclusive, once in a lifetime event that raises tens of thousands for abortion access while crushing stigma and getting everyone in the room to sing out for abortion?? These people right here and a lot of others. And YOU. Thank you.
We'll be back, with a brilliant plan we've already started putting into place. In the meantime, stay safe, stay healthy, and keep up the good fight. Thank you for your support over the years We love you!
